Someone at Pulse HQ today brought in home grown strawberries. They were lush! Like real strawberries! My dad has started growing old varieties of strawberries (as in not the kind you can buy in the supermarket, the kind organic growers use) as a friend of his gave him some plants. 3 points to note.
- They were absolutely delicious!
- They were misshapen and ugly - every single one.
- They went mouldy after picking and leaving on the side (unfridgerated but not in the weather we've been having recently) for just a few hours. No wonder those strains are hard to sell commercially. They need a much longer shelf life.
