    Does anybody like fennel?

I know it's not to everybody's taste as it has a quite distinctive aniseed flavour, but it makes for a bit of variety when you're searching for ways to get your five a day.  I cut it into chunks and blanch it, then add it to a sauce of onion, garlic, tinned tomatoes and herbs.  It's also good as part of a tray of roasted vegetables, or on kebabs to barbecue.

    Re: Does anybody like fennel?

My friend is a gardener and when I visited her last weekend she gave me some basil, majoram & fennel.  Not quite sure what to do with the last 2 as yes it's never been to my taste before.  Thoughts on majoram?

I'm not keen on it at all either but apparently roasting it (fennel) could be the way forward.  I had some turn up in a veggie box scheme once and a vegetarian friend told me it was fantastic roasted - however I still have to take his word on that as I wasn't brave enough to try and let him take it off my hands.  Not really sure what to do with marjoram either - think I've thrown the dried stuff in a moussaka before now as the recipe told me to but couldn't tell you what it actually tastes of.

Marjoram is very similar to oregano, so chuck it in anything tomato-based or Italian.
