    Re: Evening snacking

In the evening I'll tend to have a packet of crisps or some toast if I'm hungry.  I've been pretty good recently though about not having much after my dinner (possibly as we cook more "elaborate" meals now - rather than bunging a pie in the oven or using a jarred pasta sauce a lot of the time - so we tend to eat between 7 and half 7, meaning that it takes a fair amount of time to feel hungry again, and then it's time for bed!

If I'm having a drink at all though I do tend to get the urge to munch through some Pringles or pretzels though!

Toast is underrated as a snack. You can't beat a couple of slices late at night!

Oh no!  You two have done it again Kingy and Bevan.  I now have an uncontrolable desire for some hot, thickly-buttered toast with the coffee I've just made.

    I have to go now!

    Re: Evening snacking

I tend to eat comparatively late in the evening (around 8pm) so late snacking seems less necessary than once it did.  That said, I am incredibly partial to fine cheeses (as is my cat!) and will quite often make late evening forays to the cheese stash.  My favourites tend to be blue cheeses and those made from goats' milk, which liven my palate and lead to a warm, fuzzy, slightly dreamy sensation after their consumption.

During the day, I tend to focus on using up odds and ends, usually either on toast or some other warmed flat bread .  Usually, this is based on either overcoming slight boredom or experimenting with a new taste sensation, prior to unleashing it on my long-suffering wife.

Cheese tends to be eaten with biscuits, which make the process rather too noisy whilst watching TV as I like to focus on every nuance of the script or plot; crunching and crumb-scattering is too distracting.

More importantly, how are your dreams after late-night cheese eating?

Very good point there Bevan.  I'm never sure whether it's cheese that causes my dreams but I* like it too much to give it up.

I expect he has it for an evening snack with a plate of sprouts!

By the way, do you have yours with mushrooms?

What? Cheese and Mushrooms? That's got to be the worst combination I've ever heard!

Cheese is WRONG.  Do I have to keep reminding you people about this?!
